About Delta Pacific Boating
Delta Pacific Boating is an independently owned and family run business. Captain Greg Coleman is the founder and primary Captain. With nearly 30 years of experience operating power boats and after completing courses at California Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California, he was licensed by the United States Coast Guard and holds the rating Master 100 Ton. Concurrent with his boating experience, Captain Greg served for over 30 years as a Police Officer and retired at the rank of Lieutenant. Additionally, he holds a Limited Service Lifetime Teaching Credential.
At Delta Pacific Boating, our goal is to provide Stress Free Boating Solutions. We specialize in personalized boating instruction and yacht delivery throughout the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, San Francisco Bay area and the Pacific Coast. We are also available to assist with Sea Trials and work closely with the prospective buyer, vessel surveyor and yacht broker.
Many times, after acquiring a boat, new owners find they need help learning how to operate and maintain the vessel. By providing personalized hands on training on your boat, we will help you develop skills to maneuver safely and confidently in open water, around your marina and into your slip. By analyzing your vessel’s systems, we can also offer recommendations relating to upkeep and maintenance.
Additionally, we can provide instruction in the basics of navigation, anchoring, line handling, radio communications and use of safety equipment. Everything that we offer is intended to eliminate the stress that many feel when it is time to hit the open water with friends and family. With training and practice, you will become a more competent and confident boater.

I had used Captain Greg Coleman previously for lessons and yacht relocation on my Navigator 57. When I decided to "move up", Capt Greg was one of my first calls. I had found an Ocean Alexander 64 in southern CA and wanted a second opinion prior to completing the purchase.

"No Matter What"
My wife and I recently purchased a 34’ Trawler, our first boat. And while we’ve spent thousands of hours on the water, neither of us had ever owned or piloted our own boat and never one this size with twin Diesel engines and able to go beyond the Golden Gate. We needed to take some lessons both to insure our own safety as well as meet the requirements of the insurance company. Captain Greg took the time to first learn what we did know and then structured a course around what we didn’t know or needed to improve on. He was patient, thorough and an expert trainer in getting us both ready to take control of our vessel. We really appreciate all we’ve learned from him and the friendship we’ve developed.
